Refund Policy - The Basics 

A Refund Policy is a legally binding document that establishes how Swim Masters handles refunds, cancellations, and credits for swimming lessons. This policy is designed to comply with Singapore consumer protection laws while maintaining fairness for both our students and our business operations. It helps avoid disputes by clearly communicating our refund terms upfront.

Swim Masters Refund Policy
Effective Date: January 2026
1. Registration Fees

  • Registration fees are non-refundable once your enrollment is confirmed

  • This fee covers administrative costs and reserves your spot in the class

2. Lesson Cancellations by Students
Advance Notice Cancellations:

  • 14+ days before lesson start: Full refund minus registration fee

  • 7-13 days before lesson start: 50% refund of lesson fees

  • Less than 7 days before lesson start: No refund, but credit toward future lessons may be granted at instructor's discretion

  • No-show without notice: No refund or credit

For Package/Block Bookings:

  • Unused lessons can be refunded on a pro-rata basis if cancellation notice is given at least 14 days before the next scheduled lesson

  • A 20% administrative fee applies to all mid-package cancellations

3. Medical or Emergency Situations

  • Medical certificate or documented emergency required within 48 hours

  • Credits or makeup lessons will be offered for documented medical reasons

  • Refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis for serious long-term medical issues

4. Weather-Related Cancellations

  • If Swim Masters cancels lessons due to weather (lightning, heavy rain, unsafe pool conditions), students will receive:

    • Full credit toward makeup lessons, OR

    • Option to transfer to another available time slot

  • No refunds for customer-initiated cancellations due to weather preferences

5. Pool Closure or Facility Issues

  • If pools close due to maintenance, public holidays, or facility issues beyond our control, Swim Masters will:

    • Offer alternative locations if available

    • Provide makeup lessons at the same location when reopened

    • Issue pro-rata refunds if no makeup option is acceptable

6. Makeup Lessons

  • Students may request one makeup lesson per term for missed classes with at least 24 hours notice

  • Makeup lessons subject to instructor availability

  • Makeup lessons must be used within the same term/month

  • Expired makeup lessons are forfeited with no refund

7. Instructor Changes

  • If we need to change your assigned instructor, you may:

    • Continue with the new instructor (no change in fees)

    • Request a different time slot with your preferred instructor if available

    • Cancel with full refund if the change is unacceptable (must notify within 7 days)

8. Unsatisfactory Service

  • If you're unhappy with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of the lesson

  • We'll investigate and may offer:

    • A complimentary makeup lesson

    • Transfer to a different instructor

    • Pro-rata refund in exceptional circumstances

9. SwimSafer Test Fees

  • SwimSafer test booking fees are non-refundable once registered

  • Rescheduling fee of $20 applies if you need to change your test date (subject to availability)

10. Group Lesson Policies

  • Group lessons require minimum enrollment to proceed

  • If we cancel a group class due to low enrollment, you'll receive:

    • Full refund, OR

    • Option to join another group, OR

    • Upgrade to private lessons with additional payment

11. Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds will be processed within 14 business days

  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method

  • Bank processing times may vary (typically 5-10 business days)

12. How to Request a Refund

  • Include: Student name, booking reference, reason for refund, supporting documents (if applicable)

13. Non-Refundable Items
The following are non-refundable under any circumstances:

  • Registration/enrollment fees

  • Completed lessons (lessons already attended)

  • Swimwear, equipment, or merchandise purchases

  • Late payment fees or penalty charges

14. Changes to This Policy
Swim Masters reserves the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on our website and apply to bookings made after the update date. Existing bookings will follow the policy in effect at the time of registration.
